What is PPC Shooting?

Precision Pistol Competition (also known as Police Pistol Combat), is a shooting sport centering on precision shooting from a range of positions (standing, kneeling, sitting and lying) at differing distances and includes shooting from behind an obstacle. The competition looks to make a measure of comparison to real-world circumstances and is regarded as one of the forerunners of practical shooting.

It is based on the marksmanship training programs that are used by law enforcement agencies and military organizations to train their personnel in the use of firearms.

In PPC shooting, participants are required to shoot at paper targets from a variety of distances and positions, using a handgun. PPC shooting emphasizes accuracy and precision, as shooters are scored based on the number of shots that they place within the scoring areas of the targets.
